AS Monaco Natation suffered a heavy 25-10 defeat to Team Strasbourg, last season's French vice-champions, at the Piscine Prince Albert II.
AS Monaco Natation's water polo side were outclassed on home water on Sunday afternoon, losing 25-10 to Team Strasbourg at the Piscine Prince Albert II. The visitors, runners-up in last season's French championship, proved too strong across all four periods, building a lead the Monaco side could never threaten.
The gulf in level was clear from the opening whistle, with Strasbourg's depth and finishing in front of goal overwhelming the home defence. For AS Monaco Natation, the result serves as a reminder of the gap that still separates the club from the division's leading sides, though home advantage at the Rocher continues to draw a committed local following to these fixtures.
