AS Monaco dig in over Lamine Camara amid summer transfer pressure

The Senegal international looks increasingly likely to stay at the club after Monaco rejected an offer and set a high asking price for the midfielder.
Lamine Camara, one of three players identified as potentially available this summer alongside Maghnes Akliouche and Folarin Balogun, may yet remain at Stade Louis II. Despite interest from several clubs and at least one offer already turned down by the club's leadership, Monaco are in no mood to sell cheaply after an already productive transfer window.
The message from the Monegasque hierarchy is straightforward: any club wanting Camara will need to produce a substantial offer to open negotiations. With the club's financial position strengthened by earlier summer sales, there is no pressure to move the Senegalese international on at a reduced valuation.
Head coach Filipe Luis is also reported to be keen to keep Camara in his squad, adding a further internal push against a sale. Whether that collective will to retain the player survives a serious late bid from a top European club remains the open question as the transfer window moves into its final weeks.
