Romain Arneodo and Australian partner Marc Polmans beat Frantzen and Haase 7-6, 6-2 to reach the Geneva Open doubles final on Friday.
Romain Arneodo continued his strong doubles form on Friday, 22 May, advancing to the final of the Geneva Open alongside Australian partner Marc Polmans. The Monégasque player and his partner dispatched the German-Dutch combination of Constantin Frantzen and Robin Haase in straight sets, winning 7-6, 6-2 in a match that was tighter in the opening set before Arneodo and Polmans pulled clear in the second.
The result puts Arneodo one win away from claiming a title at the ATP 250 clay-court event in Geneva, a surface that suits many of the players who have spent time training on the Riviera circuit. It adds to a promising period on tour for the Principality's most active presence on the professional doubles circuit.
