Ancient Egyptian treasures arrive at Grimaldi Forum for major new exhibition
A spectacular collection of pharaonic artefacts opens to the public, curated by former Louvre Egyptian Antiquities director Christiane Ziegler.
The Grimaldi Forum has unveiled its latest blockbuster exhibition, showcasing extraordinary artefacts from ancient Egypt's most powerful rulers. The collection has taken two years to assemble, bringing together precious items that reveal the fascinating world of the pharaohs.
Renowned Egyptologist Christiane Ziegler, former director of the Louvre Museum's Egyptian Antiquities department, has curated this remarkable display. Her expertise ensures visitors encounter authentic treasures that illuminate the mysteries of one of history's most captivating civilisations.
Sylvie Biancheri, the venue's General Director, welcomed a special delegation from Cairo for the opening ceremony. The exhibition builds on the tremendous success of 'Queens of Egypt', which drew crowds to the Forum a decade ago, cementing Monaco's reputation as a destination for world-class cultural presentations.
This latest showcase promises to transport visitors back thousands of years, offering an intimate glimpse into the opulent lives and burial customs of Egypt's ancient royalty through carefully selected golden artefacts and precious objects.
