Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène will attend the final day of Pope Leo XIV's four day visit to France in Metz on Monday.
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène travel to Metz in the Moselle region on Monday to take part in the closing stages of Pope Leo XIV's four day tour of France. The appearance comes six months after the Pope's historic visit to Monaco, a trip that drew large crowds to the Principality and marked one of the most significant religious events in the country in recent years.
The Sovereign couple's presence in Metz underlines the continuing ties between the Monegasque royal house and the Holy See following that visit. Neither the Palace nor Monegasque officials have released further details of the couple's schedule in Metz, though their attendance is expected to form part of the closing ceremonies marking the end of the Pope's tour.
For residents who followed the Pope's visit to Monaco earlier this year, the Metz appearance offers a coda to that chapter, with the Principality's head of state once again standing alongside Pope Leo XIV, this time on French soil.
