A8 disruption: hour-long delays at Monaco's approach

By Zak Jackson, MonacoViews Editorial

A morning accident on the A8 near Monaco is causing tailbacks of over an hour on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

Drivers heading into Monaco on Wednesday morning are facing significant delays on the A8 motorway following an accident near the Principality's approach. Queues stretching back more than an hour have built up, compounding separate congestion near the Antibes toll plaza and turning the route into one of the worst commutes seen on this corridor in recent months.

Residents commuting from the French Riviera and anyone with morning appointments in Monaco should expect substantial delays and consider alternative routes where possible. The coastal road via the Basse Corniche remains an option, though it is likely to attract displaced traffic. Drivers are advised to check real-time traffic conditions before setting out and to allow considerably more time than usual for any journey into or out of the Principality this morning.
