750 frequencies managed for Monaco Grand Prix radio safety

The DPRN is coordinating 750 radio frequencies across the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix to prevent interference between teams, broadcasters and emergency services.
Behind the spectacle of the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix de Monaco lies a substantial logistical operation that most spectators never consider. The Principality's radio frequency regulator, the DPRN, is managing 750 frequencies allocated to walkie-talkies, microphones and other wireless equipment used across race weekend by teams, media organisations, private operators and security services.
The scale of demand reflects just how compressed the Grand Prix environment is. Dozens of competing parties are transmitting simultaneously across a circuit that winds through some of the most densely built streets in the world. Any interference in that environment carries real consequences, from disrupting pit-to-driver communications to compromising the response time of emergency crews stationed around the circuit.
The DPRN's frequency plan is designed to keep each user group isolated from the others, with allocations reviewed and enforced throughout the event. For residents and property owners in areas close to the circuit, this coordination also helps limit spillover disruption to everyday wireless services in the days surrounding the race.
