Nouveau Musée National de Monaco

monte carloCultural Venue

The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco operates across two historic villas, each with its own distinct character and programme. Villa Paloma, a grand early twentieth-century mansion set in terraced gardens at 56 Boulevard du Jardin Exotique, presents contemporary and modern art exhibitions in an intimate setting that benefits from remarkable natural light and views towards the sea. Villa Sauber, located at 17 Avenue Princesse Grace near the Larvotto seafront, is an elegant Art Nouveau building that complements its sister venue with its own temporary exhibition programme. Together the two sites form Monaco's principal public museum for visual art, presenting around three or four major exhibitions each year that draw on international loans and the national collections. Admission is €6 and free every Sunday, as well as for all visitors under 26 years of age, students, Monégasque citizens and ICOM members. Guided tours run on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays without prior booking. The museum closes on 1 January, 1 May, the four days of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, 19 November and 25 December. A combined ticket allows access to both villas during the same visit when both are open.
