Larvotto Beach

larvotto

Larvotto Beach is Monaco's principal public beach, a gently curving pebble and sand shore bordered by the tree-lined Avenue Princesse Grace promenade at the eastern end of the Principality. Largely free and open to the public throughout the year, it is Monaco's only natural beach and one of the few fully accessible stretches of coastline in the Principality. The beach faces due south and is divided into public sections and a number of adjacent private beach clubs, among them La Rose des Vents, Le Neptune, La Note Bleue and Miami Plage, where sun loungers, parasols and full restaurant service are available on a paid basis. The public sections offer free showers, toilet facilities and a seasonal anti-jellyfish net stretching across both bays. A dedicated Handiplage zone, developed in partnership with the Soroptimist association, provides assisted bathing for visitors with reduced mobility. The wider Larvotto area includes a fitness trail, cycle path and the neighbouring gardens, creating a popular all-season leisure corridor. Strictly non-smoking with no dogs permitted, in keeping with Monaco's beach regulations. A major reprofiling programme is underway in spring 2026 to improve safety and beach quality for the coming summer season. The beach sits adjacent to the Grimaldi Forum and Sporting Monte-Carlo, making it a natural extension of the Larvotto leisure district.
