About Monte Carlo House
Monte Carlo House is a residential building at 31 Boulevard des Moulins, Monte-Carlo, 98000 Monaco, positioned in the centre of one of Monaco’s best-known residential and commercial streets. Built in 1920, the building forms part of the early 20th-century architectural development of Monte-Carlo and reflects the traditional residential style that characterised the district before the later expansion of larger modern towers.
The residence rises across seven floors and contains 31 apartments, giving it a more moderate residential scale than many neighbouring developments in central Monaco. Its façade proportions and overall structure reflect the bourgeois architectural style commonly associated with Monte-Carlo apartment buildings from the period, with taller windows, balanced exterior lines and layouts designed around natural light and room proportions.
Monte Carlo House occupies a highly central location within walking distance of Casino Square, the Hôtel de Paris, the Casino Gardens, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, One Monte-Carlo and the Métropole Shopping Monte-Carlo. Boulevard des Moulins itself remains one of the Principality’s busiest everyday streets, combining residential buildings with cafés, bakeries, restaurants, boutiques, supermarkets, pharmacies and local services used regularly throughout the year by Monaco residents.
Apartments within the building are generally known for higher ceilings, good natural light and more traditional room configurations than many modern Monaco residences. A number of units have been renovated internally over time, incorporating updated kitchens, bathrooms and contemporary technical systems while retaining elements of the original architectural character. Depending on floor level and orientation, some apartments benefit from open urban views across Monte-Carlo rooftops or partial sea views towards the Mediterranean.
Security and building management remain important features within Monte Carlo House. The residence is associated with professional security systems and video surveillance, services that are particularly valued within central Monte-Carlo where many apartments are used as secondary residences or international bases.
Although located within one of Monaco’s busiest districts, the building maintains a predominantly residential atmosphere internally. Compared with nearby mixed-use developments containing larger office occupancy, Monte Carlo House remains more closely connected to the traditional residential identity of Boulevard des Moulins.
The surrounding area provides strong walkability throughout Monaco. Larvotto, Port Hercules, Monaco train station and the Carré d’Or can all be reached relatively easily using Monaco’s pedestrian routes, lifts and escalators. The district combines residential streets with hospitality, retail and commercial activity, creating an active year-round environment rather than an area focused solely on tourism.
Monte Carlo House appeals primarily to buyers and tenants seeking a traditional Monte-Carlo residential building with historical character, modern security infrastructure and direct access to the centre of Monaco. Its combination of early 20th-century architecture, manageable building scale and central positioning gives it a noticeably different atmosphere from many of the Principality’s later high-rise developments.

Resident Reviews of Monte Carlo House
Public reviews and sentiment about Monte Carlo House, aggregated from third-party sources.
Monte Carlo House receives mixed reviews from residents and visitors. Whilst the building is praised for its reliable management, central location and good value relative to neighbouring properties, it faces criticism for construction noise from adjacent developments and dated common areas that lack the luxury finishes expected in Monte Carlo.
Mar 2026
The construction noise from the neighbouring development is unbearable. Jackhammering starts at 7am sharp, six days a week. Building management has done nothing meaningful to address this with the developer. Windowpanes rattle. Cannot recommend until works finish.
Feb 2026
The apartment itself was nicely renovated by the previous owner but the building entrance and corridors are disappointing. Dated lighting, worn carpets, no wow factor. For Monte Carlo the presentation does not match the postcode. Adequate but uninspiring.
Feb 2026
Reliable and well-managed building in a central location. Everything functions as it should — lifts, security, cleaning, postal service. Not the most glamorous address but extremely practical for daily life in Monaco. Good value relative to neighbours.
Jan 2026
Decent investment property. We rent our unit and tenants are happy. Building charges are fair and the syndic is competent. The common areas are basic — no luxury touches — but everything is clean and functional. Good entry point to Monaco property ownership.
